Haven SMP server rules

Short, fair and written to protect the peace. Read them once, type /rules in-game to accept, and you're ready to play.

Last updated 4 November 2026

Breaking the rules can lead to a warning, mute, ban or permanent removal. We value the peace of this community above everything else. Rules are numbered so you can reference them in tickets, e.g. M1.2.

Part 1

Community rules

How we treat each other, in-game, in chat and on Discord.

C1Respect each other

C1.1Banter and swearing are fine when it's mutual and everyone is enjoying it.
C1.2If someone asks you to stop, or seems uncomfortable, stop immediately. Continuing is a violation, even if it started as a joke.
C1.3No real insults, targeted bullying, or repeatedly singling out one person.
C1.4No slurs or discrimination of any kind (race, religion, gender, sexuality, disability, nationality). This includes "jokes". No exceptions.
C1.5No jokes about suicide, self-harm, abuse, or real tragedies.
C1.6No impersonation of players or staff.
C1.7You are responsible for everything that happens on your account. If a sibling, roommate or friend uses it and breaks the rules, you receive the punishment.

C2Chat

C2.1No spamming, advertising other servers, or sharing anyone's personal information.
C2.2No religious or political debates.
C2.3Disagreements must stay civil. If it's getting heated, take it to DMs.
C2.4No sexual or graphic content. If a conversation makes someone uncomfortable, stop. Usernames, skins, signs and builds follow the same rules as chat.
C2.5When opening a ticket or suggestion thread, give as much detail as possible. "X is not working" won't get us very far.

C3Staff and punishments

C3.1Follow staff instructions first, discuss afterward. Do not argue with staff immediately after a punishment or an order.
C3.2If you feel a punishment is unfair, open a ticket. The staff team will make a final ruling, through a staff poll if necessary.
C3.3If someone breaks the rules in a way that affects you, do not retaliate. Report it to staff instead.
C3.4Staff have the final say on what counts as a violation. "It was just a joke" is not a defense.
C3.5Penalties usually follow this order: warning, mute, temporary ban, permanent ban. Serious violations can skip steps.
C3.6Using alternate accounts to evade a punishment results in a permanent ban.

Part 2

Minecraft rules

How we share the world so it stays beautiful for years.

M1Griefing and theft

M1.1No theft of items. Unlocked or unclaimed does not mean free.
M1.2No destruction of property, whether blocks, entities or items.
M1.3No building within 100 blocks of another player's base without their permission.
M1.4Want to adopt an existing structure? Ask staff first whether it has been abandoned.
M1.5No scamming in trades or the market. No real-money trading.

M2Cheating and mods

M2.1No cheats in general: flight, x-ray, freecam, block-placing cheats and so on.
M2.2No exploiting bugs. Please report all bugs immediately.
M2.3Xaero's Minimap and World Map, fullbright, Litematica and MiniHUD are expressly allowed. For any other client mod, ask staff first.
M2.4Passive farms you can stand at while AFK (such as mob farms) are allowed. Farms that need macros, autoclickers or similar tools to work are not, including AFK fishing setups.

M3Server performance

M3.1Medium to large redstone contraptions must have an off switch.
M3.2Chunk loading is limited to 27 chunks per player, about three ender pearl stasis chambers (each keeps a 3×3 area loaded). Chunk loaders that keep running while you're offline need staff approval.
M3.3Farms are limited to 50 entities each.
M3.4AFK players may be kicked automatically when the server is lagging.

M4PvP

M4.1PvP is strictly consensual.
M4.2Teleport killing and trapping are not allowed unless explicitly agreed upon beforehand.
M4.3Looting graves without explicit permission counts as griefing.

M5Other world rules

M5.1Claims are made with protection stones (5×5, 17×17 and 27×27). How many you can place grows with your playtime rank, up to 20 / 5 / 3 at 750 hours. No excessive land claiming.
M5.2Do not leave pillars, floating trees and similar scars behind.
M5.3Anything built at spawn is automatically for public use.
